THIS IS A REFILL PACK AND CLASS PASS FOR THOSE THAT WANT TO DO IT AGAIN IN A DIFFERENT COLORWAY!
You have already done the class once, but had so much fun you would like to join in again. You already have stencils, cups, and the other tools you used from the first time around.
This package will get you the fabric, print paste and dextrins, plus a DIFFERENT round of dye. We're going to deepen it up for the fall a bit. You also have access to the class and Facebook page.
A DYEING to CUT IT Class
A charm pack is a wonderful quilters cut designed to be put right to use without a lot of cutting and trimming. Many quilt designers have charm pack quilts that go together quickly and easily.
Measuring 5" x 5", there are usually 42 in a bundle. The simple yet effective quilts they make show off a nice block of fabric. This gives me so much inspiration!
Each student will receive small cuts of fabric to work with, dye, fixatives, print paste, corn dextrin and potato dextrin. You will also receive a selection of interesting small scale stencils. I call them Dit-Dots or support fabrics. If you want focal fabric - you will need to select your own stencils.
After making a collection of potato and corn dextrin prink blocks We will mix 24 different colors of dye paint out of 3 colors of dye. We will use this thickened dye paint to our print blocks - as well as some hand painted "artsy solid" complimentary blocks to mash up in your quilt. We'll dye enough for 2 full charm packs - one prints, one solids.
I Provide small cuts of fabric to work with, dye, fixatives, print paste, corn dextrin and potato dextrin. I will also send small mixing cups, pipettes and a few printmaking tools. I'm going to use Kingfisher Blue, Tangerine and Raspberry unless you email with a different request. This quirky, just off primary color combination will give us a playful and fun
You will need to provide freezer paper, iron, mixing spoons, small bottle of Dawn dish detergent, a few 1" chip brushes, and a way to trim a 5" block.
This is a DYEING to CUT IT class, so bring your favorite charm pack pattern. I want to see what you make with these!!! We will continue to share on Facebook.
